h1b属于移民签证吗？
H-1B是Nonimmigrant Visa的一种，严格来说不算“移民”。但是确实可以长期留在美国，只要雇主继续雇佣你。而且由于H-1B和H-4(H-1B持有者的配偶和孩子)允许一起申请，所以H-1B持有人是可以带家属来美国的。 这种非移民签证的分类其实很广泛，除了上面说的H-1B外还有L-1 (Intracompany Transferees)，O-1A and O-1B (Artists/Athletes/Entertainers etc.)等等等...
在上面的表格中可以看到USCIS对各种签证的描述，其中提到了每种签证的目的和限制条件。这里简单翻译一下： H-1B签证是给那些拥有专业工作技能并将在美国从事类似专业的短期工作的外国人使用的，其时限一般是3年，可以延长最多6年;H-4则给那些陪同H-1B持有者一起赴美的家属使用； L-1 visa是为跨国公司在美分公司调派高级管理人员而设计的，同时也可以为一些外国公司驻美代表机构人员提供临时工作许可 O-1 is for "individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences， arts， education， business or athletics，" while O-2 visas are intended to allow those who can demonstrate that they're essential to the success of an O-1 holder's performance. F-1学生签证是最常见的，也是留学生们通常选择的学生签证类型。
J-1 exchange visitor program 交换学者签证是针对以文化交流为目的被派遣到美国进行学习和训练的受训人员的，比如政府工作人员、研究生、教授和研究学者等， J-2则是此类人员的家属。 这张表的解释比较难懂，我找了点例子来形象说明： A Chinese national has been invited by Harvard University to be one of its graduate students studying political science next year. Since his goal will be to eventually return to China， he should probably get an F-1 student visa when he arrives at the airport. On the other hand， if you’re wondering whether someone from France would qualify as an exchange visitor under this immigration category， well maybe not since it says “government official，” which implies some form of employment relationship， not necessarily volunteer work——but there may still be cases like that. Just look up the definitions yourself ：)
最后一张表主要是讲那些具有移民倾向的非移民签证，包括C-1（过境）， Ds（deportable aliens)， I-821 A& B（asylum seekers)， and TPS(temporary protective status holders )等等…这些签证一般不常见就不多说了~ 有兴趣的同学可以去USCIS的网站上自己查查看~~
